It’s another step in an exciting direction and nice to be recognised by the ‘big boys’. We also wish all the success to a new venture in Ditchling, west sussex, with the grand opening of Larder on Saturday. Rossalind said it was a roaring success of a day, although she was a little twitchy with a queue half way up the road!!

Finally, butternut squash cooked with mascarpone cheese and plenty of seasonal sage leaves. We stir in a little polenta for a great texture which adds to that silky feel on your tongue. Out in the shops from tomorrow and of course from Crumbs if you want them delivered to your door. Enjoy.

We feel so many soups out there do not deliver on so many levels and our soups are made so you keep going back for more. We love that feeling of delving in for another mouthful because you enjoy the taste, not because you go back trying desperately to find some flavour! Not pureed to beyond existence, but little nuggets of texture and flavour rolling around your tongue. It’s just how soup should be.

Four flavours for now and uploaded onto our seasonal site menu. We are developing a new soup based on beetroot, parsnip, celeriac and a good dollop of sour cream. What a colour and great depth of flavour.

Onto stews next and we will keep you posted. Enjoy.
